Modifinal acts on areas in the brain having to do with the sleep/wake mechanism. Modifinal increases alertness in sleepy individuals, but probably not to normal alertness levels. Modifinal is rapidly absorbed the body and it is at its most effective within two hours of ingestion.
Recent research in found that Modifinal works in the brain's dopamine system. Two proteins that are affected by dopamine are essential for the drug's activity, but scientists don't know if dopamine is the drug's target or just a link in a chemical cascade in the brain that Modifinal also affects.

Modifinal Interactions
Your pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for Modifinal. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
Before using Modifinal, tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of:
-street drugs (e.g., methamphetamine, MDMA-"ecstasy"),
- "blood thinners" (e.g., warfarin),
- medications for high blood pressure (e.g., beta blockers such as atenolol/metoprolol, clonidine, guanabenz, methyldopa, prazosin),
- drugs that affect liver enzymes that remove modafinil from the body (e.g., azole antifungals such as itraconazole/ketoconazole, rifamycins such as rifabutin/rifampin, anti-seizure medications such as carbamazepine/phenobarbital).
Modifinal can speed up or slow down the removal of other drugs from your body by affecting certain liver enzymes. These affected drugs may include certain antidepressants (e.g. TCAs such as clomipramine/desipramine, SSRIs such as fluoxetine, fluvoxamine), cyclosporine, diazepam, phenytoin, propranolol, theophylline, triazolam.

Proper storage of Modifinal:
Store Modifinal at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Modifinal out of the reach of children and away from pets.
